My Toastmasters Experience
I personally believe that joining a Toastmasters club is a wonderful way to improve your communication skills, calm your fear of speaking, and develop more self-confidence. I have seen this benefit realized by others as well as myself.
My Toastmasters experience includes:
- Member since 2005
- Earned Advanced Communicator Gold (ACG) and Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) designations (I just need to complete the High Performance Leadership project to earn a DTM)
- Club officer positions including President, Vice President – Education, Vice President – Public Relations, Sergeant-At-Arms
- Division Governor (once)
- Sponsored a new corporate club at Microsoft Canada
- Conducted club officer training sessions numerous times for many roles
- Delivered Toastmasters conference educational sessions
- District 2 – Does Your Presentation Stand Out Visually?
- District 21 – Strategies for an Effective Toastmasters Club Website
- District 21 – 10 Keys to Effective Speech Evaluation (closely related to this article)
