This week, we’re reaching back to November 2011 to learn six common communication barriers and how to avoid them.

When I first saw the satirical video created by guest author Stacey Hanke, I knew I had found a kindred spirit who wants to help people avoid common communication blunders. Thankfully, she agreed to expand upon her video in an excellent guest article which we feature this week. To complement the video which demonstrates six common communication barriers, Stacey provides solid, practical tips to help you avoid this “verbal static”.

I wish I could say that these communication barriers had been eliminated in the six and half years since Stacey wrote her article. Sadly, I witness them frequently in others, and I struggle with one of them from time to time myself.
